time to connect
in a nature immersive retreat
The pandemic has shown us opportunities to reinvent our work lives for ourselves, colleagues, employees or even students, if we are open to the change and innovation that this opportunity presents.
Google closed their offices requiring workers to log in from home until the summer of 2021, while some states have a work-from-home status for as many people as possible, indefinitely.
There are pros and cons to this new work environment that has blindsided us. Perhaps it's improved productivity or employee satisfaction for not having to commute and eat out every day, or it's helped the company streamline costs in a tightened economy by not having to maintain a brick and mortar office.
Has anything been lost?
Is it energy in form of exhaustion from screens
or frustration with technology?
Is it the team dynamics because of lack of physicality?
Is the creative energy evaporated or dampened by the lack of scenery change or increased distractions?

WHY?
"Expect three main benefits from nature: restoration, contemplation and inspiration. All of them are crucial for creative leaders. Nature restores us. It gives us physical and emotional health—when it comes to stress relief, breathing fresh air is as close to medicine as you can get. Being in the mountains or near the ocean directly affects our health in a good way. After just 20 minutes in a natural setting, our levels of cortisol, which is a stress indicator, decrease significantly." for the full article click here to read "The outdoors prescription: how nature ignites creativity" by Kate Inglis
